Rebranding Unlocks Global Opportunities for IDC (Industrial Door Company)

Minneapolis, March 18, 2019 – MVP Marketing + Design, Inc., a Minneapolis Digital Agency, is pleased to announce the rebranding of IDC, formerly the Industrial Door Company. IDC has provided premium garage doors and related components nationally and worldwide from Minneapolis, MN, since 1974. Having acquired Industrial Spring Company and Holmes Spring Manufacturing  previously, IDC turned to MVP for visual and verbal branding. The goal: To cohesively represent their growing acquisitions in the fast-growing and widespread springs, fasteners, cable and track market segments.

Through its  BrandMateSM process, MVP interviewed IDC’s stakeholders including internal staff, vendors and customers to better understand the company and its brand. Through these interviews, MVP learned that IDC’s focus on a win-win relationship was key to its success. MVP incorporated these findings into its rebranding process. In a market competing for skilled manufacturing workers, MVP created an engaging HR recruitment video that expressed how IDC achieved market leadership through the heartfelt words of its friendly and hardworking team. Made to attract new talent, the video also showcased the company’s sophisticated manufacturing technology.

In connection with the project, IDC required new master and sub-brand logos that would integrate the company’s disparate subsidiaries and survive its anticipated divestiture of IDC Door. Thus, the new corporate logo is an abstract image of an open door backed by a new tagline echoing the insights derived from MVP’s voice of customer (VOC) research: “Empowering People. Unleashing Potential. Inspiring Results.” New corporate identity assets, tradeshow display and website wireframes, which led to the launch of IDC’s new site, rounded out the engagement.
