From One Platform to Two: Separating Comvest’s Private Equity and Debt Websites Following the Manulife | Comvest Partnership

Project Challenge

When Comvest announced the sale of a 75% interest in its Credit Partners division to Manulife Investment Management on August 6, 2025 (transaction closed November 3, 2025), the firm needed a rapid and seamless digital transition to reflect its new organizational structure. The partnership brought together Comvest’s decades of middle-market direct lending experience with Manulife’s scale, balance sheet strength, and sponsor relationships—resulting in the launch of Manulife | Comvest Credit Partners at www.comvest.com

At the same time, Comvest Private Equity (CPE) continued independently as a leading private equity investor serving North American middle-market companies. With $1.9B in AUM, ~$2.4B in capital invested, and more than 110 total investments, CPE established its new digital home at comvestprivateequity.com

Having supported Comvest for more than three years across website design, development, and marketing communications, MVP Marketing + Design was engaged to lead the dual-site separation—executing two coordinated website launches within an exceptionally tight one-month window.

The core challenge: retain the existing “look and feel” of Comvest’s established digital brand while dividing a single integrated website into two distinct platforms, each with its own navigation, content, team, portfolio, and transactional history. Key requirements included:

  • Cloning and repurposing the existing Comvest.com site to create a Manulife | Comvest-branded debt platform.
  • Developing a stand-alone Private Equity site featuring CPE’s strategy, portfolio, and team.
  • Separating content, data, and imagery—including team members, portfolio companies, and press—without disrupting existing database relationships.
  • Implementing a sophisticated popup/redirect system to help users choose between the PE and Credit platforms.
  • Maintaining UX consistency, browser compliance, security protocols, and analytics continuity.
  • Completing all work without a traditional redesign phase—no needs analysis, creative brief, sitemap, or wireframes—while preserving high design integrity.
Project Solution

Using MVP’s proven TeamMate℠ custom WordPress project management and development framework, both new sites were deployed from a shared codebase and rapidly adapted to meet the needs of each business line:

Manulife | Comvest Credit Partners (Debt)

  • Reconfigured navigation and architecture to emphasize direct lending and opportunistic credit strategies
  • Implemented new co-branded identity and logo
  • Added a durable popup and redirect system to guide traffic between sites
  • Preserved existing functionality for news, team, and portfolio (investment) filters in a debt-specific context

Comvest Private Equity (CPE)

  • Adapted the cloned structure into a fully independent PE site
  • Removed all credit-related content and rebuilt team, portfolio, and news modules to reflect CPE’s standalone identity
  • Maintained the original visual language to ensure continuity while supporting new positioning

Iterative Design and Agile Development

  • MVP’s senior designer provided continuous art direction to maintain UX and visual consistency
  • Work progressed quickly without sacrificing polish or performance

Hosting, Security, SEO and Analytics

  • Both sites retained WP Engine hosting and mirrored MFA/security standards
  • MVP installed new Google Analytics tracking configuring each domain to monitor performance and user flow
  • MVP collaborated with a third-party consultant to ensure that both sites retained their SEO “link juice” through 301 redirects and meta data updates
Results

MVP successfully launched both websites in advance of the Manulife transaction close—delivering two distinct yet visually unified platforms that support Comvest’s newly separated business structure:

Both sites demonstrate MVP’s ability to execute complex, time-sensitive digital transformations for private capital clients navigating significant organizational change—while preserving brand continuity, performance, and user experience.
