Commemorating its 35th Anniversary, MVP Sponsors Safe Passage for Children of Minnesota Covid-19 Webinar Series

Minneapolis, October 12, 2020 – MVP Marketing + Design, Inc., an award-winning Minneapolis Digital Agency established in 1985 serving B2B and B2C clients regionally, nationally, and globally, is pleased to announce that in celebration of its 35th Anniversary this fall, it is sponsoring a webinar series in collaboration with Safe Passage for Children of Minnesota, a citizens’ group that advocates for improvements in Minnesota’s child welfare system.

The webinar series, entitled Victims of Child Maltreatment Hidden by Covid-19, focuses on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on victims of child abuse and neglect. Safe Passage is a child welfare advocacy organization working for systemic improvements to Minnesota’s child protection and foster care programs. MVP earlier contributed to the organization by designing its logo and is in the process of redesigning its website.

The series, which is supported by MVP Marketing + Design, consists of the following three-part series of events:

Wednesday, September 30, 2:30 – 3:45 PM:

Marie Cohen is a child advocate and writes the blog Child Welfare Monitor, which does deep dives into stories, trends, and research that relate to child protection and foster care.

Marie discusses the inventory she compiled of creative approaches that states and counties have developed to identify victims of child maltreatment who are hidden from view by the coronavirus.

Wednesday, October 14, 2:30 – 3:45 PM:

Andrew Campbell is an expert on family violence and the associated risks of harm for adults, children, and animals residing in homes where this violence occurs. He utilizes cutting-edge data analysis, groundbreaking cross-discipline collaborations, and a personal perspective on violence in the home to help to agencies around the globe to develop more efficient and effective responses to physical and emotional violence.

Andrew will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on family violence including child maltreatment, and recommendations for ameliorating its effects.

Wednesday, November 11, 2:30 – 3:45 PM:

Victor Vieth is Director of Education and Research for the Zero Abuse Project, which trains 30,000 child protection workers and other first responders annually in fact-finding skills for investigations and assessments.

Victor and his team at the Minnesota-based Zero Abuse Project will discuss “Responding to Child Abuse During a Pandemic: 25 Tips for MDTs (Multi-Disciplinary Teams),” which describes ways to overcome barriers to child safety presented by COVID-19.

Registration will open for the November 11th event on Thursday October 15th.
