Networking demands effective communication: Capex's new user-friendly website and community calendar reinforce their strong voice

The Chicago Association of Private Equity Executives (Capex) was founded in 1997 and provides a forum for its members to participate in social events as well as professional development events. Social Events enable its members to enhance their network of Chicago-area investors and sponsors as well as facilitate the exchanging of ideas, best practices and common experiences. Capex’s Professional Development Events serve to educate and inform members on relevant market trends and state of the art M&A terms. The association maintains a current membership base of over 100 organizations, spanning private equity, venture capital, fund of funds, family offices, and mezzanine/co-investment firms.

Seeking to refresh their outdated website, Capex desired a new site that would provide an easy way for the organization to communicate with its members. Capex longed for a way to delight and engage private equity executives while keeping them informed. Their previous site was cluttered with large blocks of text and basic navigation made the site difficult to use. Capex needed a way to simplify their online presence and build lasting connections for its members, who were used to interacting face-to-face.

Creating an interactive CMS community calendar provided much greater ease of navigation for Capex’s website. With greatly improved user experience, the association has been able to keep members informed of both community events as well as Capex specific announcements.

By creating a strong corporate identity and streamlined web design, MVP helped Capex find a distinct voice to reach their community. The logo and color scheme complement powerful imagery to build an approachable, yet professional Capex brand. Additionally, the website promotes member interaction through an MVP-developed community calendar and a leadership section integrated with email service.
